买椟还珠的全文英文解释
In the Spring and Autumn Period, there lived in Chu a merchant of jewelry.Once,he got hold of a rare pearl. He thought the pearl would bring him more money,if it was sold to have a nice looking casket to go with it.So he had a casket made of solid wood, scented it with perfume, carved it with meticulous designs, and decorated it with various precious stones. Then he put the pearl in the casket for sale.As the price charged for it was exorbitant,in the first few days, the pearl was not sold out.Not until one day,a well-dressed customer stepped into the shop, his attention was immediately attracted by the beautiful casket. He picked up the box and gazed at it this way and that for a long time.He expressed his admiration and appreciation of its exquisite handicraft art,and made his decision to take it.
When he had paid the money, the customer took out the pearl from the casket, put it on the counter and said:" I don't like this small stone,it is worthless. You may keep it for yourself."
