Nowadays, more and more people are concerning about the protection of intellectual property rights and anti-piracy. Intellectual property, or IP, refers to creations of the mind for which exclusive rights are recognized in law. Under intellectual property law, owners are granted certain exclusive rights to a variety of intangible assets, such as musical, literary, and artistic works; discoveries and inventions; and words, phrases, symbols, and designs. Common types of intellectual property rights include copyright, trademarks, patents, industrial design rights and in some jurisdictions trade secrets. In Japan, IP protection is one of the most things which the government focuses on. There are several copyright laws which protect the right of the IP owner.
Although many of the legal principles governing intellectual property rights have evolved over centuries, it was not until the 19th century that the term intellectual property began to be used, and not until the late 20th century that it became commonplace in the majority of the world. Now, the law system in many countries is sound. However, the execution was not perfect. The most serious worldwide problem is piracy, or copyright infringement. Copyright infringement is the unauthorized use of works under copyright, infringing the copyright holder's "exclusive rights. There are several negative impacts. First, piracy evades the tax form the government. Second, the price is cheaper. Third, the publishers face the economic losses.
Now, most countries have the sound legal system to prevent piracy. However, in some developing countries, there are increasingly rampant piracy problems. The execution is weak. Although, the government cleaned the illegal publishers. However, this problem despite repeated prohibitions. Even more, the piracy has become a lucrative industry.
Japan becomes the backbone of the protection of intellectual property rights and anti-piracy.Formulate relevant laws and tough enough execution. The most important factor is that people have a strong awareness of copyright and anti-piracy. This is no way for profit that unruly elements. We look forward to co-operation with countries in intellectual property rights protection organizations, the rights of property holders.
